THESE ICING SHEETS HAVE A SHELF LIFE OF UP TO SIX MONTHS WHEN KEPT IN THE SEALED PACKAGING IN A COOL DRY PLACE WHICH THEY ARE SUPPLIED IN – ALTHOUGH WE RECOMMEND 3 MONTHS AS A QUALITY MEASURE. IT IS IMPORTANT TO USE THE ICING SHEET FOR YOUR CREATION QUITE CLOSE TO THE TIME REQUIRED BUT NOT SO CLOSE THAT WE CAN’T FIX ANY PROBLEMS YOU MAY HAVE, WE APPLY OURS 3 DAYS BEFORE, THERE ARE SOME FACTORS WHICH CAN AFFECT THEM. FOR INSTANCE THE HUMIDITY IN THE AIR CAN EFFECT THE INK IF TOO WET AND THERE IS A POSSIBILITY OF THEM DRYING OUT TOO MUCH IF LEFT UNCOVERED.
THE REMOVAL OF THE BACKING SHEET - DO NOT STORE IN THE FRIDGE
SIMPLY REMOVE ALL PACKAGING AND PLACE IN A FREEZER FOR A FEW MINUITES, KEEPING AN EYE ON THE SHEET AT ALL TIMES FOR IT TO REMOVE ITSELF FROM THE BACKING SHEET. PLACE ONTO THE PREPARED CAKE IMMEDIATELY IN POSITION, AS ONCE IT IS ON THE CAKE, IT SHOULD
NOT BE REMOVED AS IT COULD TEAR.
APPLYING YOUR ICING SHEET
THERE ARE MANY DIFFERENT WAYS OF APPLYING YOUR ICING SHEET TO THE CAKE. IF THE CAKE IS ICED, BRUSH THE ICING WITH A LITTLE
WATER UNTIL STICKY (NOT WET) OR WITH BOILED JAM COOLED, NO LUMPS (NOT WET). APPLY IMMEDIATELY BEFORE IT SETS. THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS THAT YOU DON’T HAVE IT WET AS IT MAY IN WORSE CASES DISINTIGRATE OR HOLES WILL APPEAR AND INKS WILL RUN. ALSO
IF YOU TEAR IT, DO NOT TRY WETTING THE TEAR, JUST SIMPLY PLACE TOGETHER AND SLIGHTLY PRESS TOGETHER WITH YOUR DRY FINGER –
THAT’S ALL IT SHOULD TAKE TO BOND IT BACK - BASICALLY YOUR JUST SECURING IT TO THE TOP OF THE CAKE _ SOME PEOPLE JUST LAY IT ON.
